the NEW zipper suggestion list
The following post is an open-call for suggestions for any zippers you think we ought to make in the future.
This is the place to tell us what new lengths or colors you think we should make for our next batch to feature on our main zipper page and also on our shop on Etsy. We can only add a few new types of zippers at a time, so the most highly-requested styles here are most likely to be added our active inventory sooner.
We welcome input for requests for any total length, any color for both teeth and fabric, and either bag-style (i.e. top-opening) or jacket-style (i.e. fully-separating) formats for either the large #10 gauge or our giant-chunky #30 gauge. Please feel free to be as specific as you’d like.
Please note: there is no guarantee nor time-frame that any suggestions mentioned below might appear, but we’ll do our best to continue to expand our selection.
MAY 2013: Over the course of this month, we are now planning for our new summer batch, and we will try to incorporate as many suggestions here as is feasible. Feel free to suggest new ideas or vote up others’ requests as well.
I know you guys are making some mid length ones when you can, but just more in the 25 to 35 inch range would be great, especially in silver or blue. Different greens of any size would be great too to add, like the old green you used to have, or a neon lime or teal too.
Mid-length silver is a definite in the next run. And at least one of your other choices should be coming then as well. (Ideally, we’d like a teal and neon lime ASAP as well.)
Yes I have been needing middle length silver ones. Glad silver is coming back for the giants. Will it also come in Org13 coat length again too?
Oh, and an idea is to maybe start aiming for team colors…? That might be what you were doing anyway with the yellow and new green? If not though, I officially request you consider that, it would probably be useful to a lot of people.
[CURRENT BATCH 11-12] Yes, there will be both medium (I think it is 30″) both-end-separating silver zips as well as silver zipper chain for use in Organization coats.
Team colors are a good idea, but we should probably have a poll just for that. ^_-
glow in the dark ones that are the biggest chunky size, on black ribbon please. Um, any length really.
oh yes, and would like these on black also.
We have been getting quite a few requests for GitD toothed #30 zippers for a while. I am glad you agree that they should be on black zipper tape…because that is my intention. XD

also would buy a glowinthedark if it was the big no.30 size. have your smaller ones already and just would like the extra big option. 22″ would be ideal for me for those.
This probably is not that useful to most people, but would magenta or fuschia ever be possible? Also copper or brass on the giant zippers would be amazing for steampunk. Also I would like to see the number 10 size silver one you do have in a shorter length option (for making Riku).
All colors are possible… ^_- We have not had much feedback on magenta/fuchsia yet, but that would be pretty, so it’s a good idea. Keeps with our bold color scheme. I would say an antique brass or an orange copper is more likely to be coming first (and for the very reason you mentioned.)
Also a shorter dual-pull #10 silver is coming (for Riku!) in the next batch, for sure.
I would like to see the light silver in the giant size return as an option. It was my favorite for organization coats. And maybe also have it be a shorter “complete jacket style” in that silver too. 18″ 22″ Longer? something that would be a good length for non cosplay jackets.
Mid-length jacket-separating #30 silver zips are coming next (thanks for specific length requests there) as well as mid-length double-pull #10 silver. Since we are making so much silver anyway, I’ll see if we can budget in making some more of the long #30 silvers as well. (At the very least, perhaps I can get at least some silver #30 zipper chain.)
When will they be ready
We saved up to make one huge batch this time (since with Sae leaving for the Air Force, I’m not sure how the future will go after that) so we are currently in production *now* with the following silver zippers: #10 25″ dual-pull both-end-separating, #30 30″ both-end-separating and #30 zipper chain (any length) and well as slider pulls. If all goes well, I should have most new zips up by the new year.

What we’re calling “teal” is being made right now, in a couple different sizes. For the next batch, a more blue-aqua-cyan shade is planned.
Maybe consider a few pastels? Like a light lavendar or a seafoam green? On white ribbon tape would seem to be best. Also is gold an option?
Oh also i am boring and just need the giant zippers in white as well, but in something a bit longer than the 18 inch option you already make…but as separating full zippers and not just chain. 22″-28″ would be great. And for the pastels, I would actually most like the smallest zipper size you have (#10) but the giant size on those could be good too.
Pastels are actually something we haven’t really considered before, but it is an interesting idea. Please feel free to give up some more info on what you might be thinking…?
I am going to need to restock our existing white #30 zips anyway, so I can factor in making some of the same but just a bit longer. (We need more middle-length options simply in general, I agree.)
Oh, and gold is an option, but it honestly is not a very bright gold. ^_^;; We’re going to aim for more of an antique gold when we expand in that direction.

I actually liked the red zippers on the black fabric tape, so maybe if you make more red, some can be that way? Also would like white teeth on black, both small and giant sizes – although if you make glow-in-the-dark like that, I probably could just use those instead of plain white.
I love the idea of Turquoise! Would be nice if the ribbon matches too. Also the big chunky glow in the dark on black ribbon! And I would love a full purple chunky one!

The turquoise/teal being made right now will be on matching color fabric, in a few different size options.
and yes to the steampunk inspired one! that would be awesome.
Also would it be possible to make them in that melon lime colour? Its bordering on neon yellow with a hint of lime. I think thats the best way to describe the colour

I need some bright retro colors, so some of the ideas above are good already. Orange, cyan-blue, lime-green at least. Looking to go for kinda 8 bit nintendo feel, so on black ribbon tape would be great. Shortish too… 12 inches? The 18″ you already have for some colors would be okay if that is the shortest you can make. And the giant size teeth obviously.
I guess this has already been asked above? But I have some designs that I need opposite colors of teeth and fabric. I DON’T want them to blend/match because I want the zipper to really stand out and be obvious. I’d like bright colors on dark or black fabric or black colors on bright or neon fabric ideally. I trust that whatever colors you’d pick I could probably use, so I don’t really have a prefereence. Regular black and white (both ways) is good too. Just really contrasty is what I am looking for. Length can be anywhere from 15″-30″ so whatever is good for you. (Please, I will buy a LOT if you add these. Maybe not all at once, but a ton over the course of the year.)
I heard a rumor that you are actually making reverse black and white big zippers right now, that are both colors on the same zipper? I think that is what is being requested here? If not, then that is what I am looking for.
For contrasting options, right now I’m starting with black teeth on white fabric and also white teeth on black fabric. (They will be the same length, so it will be additionally possible to take one side from one and one for the other for even more mixing-up.) If these work out well, I’m going to aim to have bright/neon colors to choose from in the future, too.
Hi. I was told to leave a note on here so you know what to maybe make later. I am interested in #20 or #30 size multi-color zippers (like the actual plastic part, the fabric can be black or whatever) either in a swirly tie-dye look or a rainbow gradiant or speckled or whatever is possible. I don’t care what length since I can use just about anything. Just lots of crazy colors. Thank you for considering.

I would like to request a 25 inch size 30 black zipper on black fabric single way pull.
I will take any cool toned colors. I hope the teal comes soon or that you restock the old blue and purple ones since it seems I just missed them. Giant size width, 12-30 inches.
The batch in production right now has both 18″ and 30″ teal versions for the #30 size.
Is it possible to get the #20 black and grey zipper done in the smaller size of 15 OR 18 inches? or close to that in size anyways. my goal is to make Allen Walker boots for this year.
I see ones that are all black in that size, but the design of those are not quit right for what I need to be able to do.
Would love to see Bag style in a variety of colors please or even a rainbow one on white ribbon for duffle bags.
I would like to get some giant zippers that are shorter than 18″ but still separating. (Instead of closed bag-style with the stopper on the end.) So…15″…? 13″-12″ really if possible. I am making some shorter crop jacket/shrugs and would like to try using the giant zips, but they are all too long. Probably silver or grey would be best for me.
Can the #30 giant zippers be provided in 10″ or 12″ length in white. What would be the cost. Still a minimum order of 50?
The #30 zippers *can* be made that short, but not much of the teeth area is visible at that point. (The slider covers up about 2″ and the bottom pin-box counts as another good inch or so for the jacket-style ones, a bit less on bag-style ones.) But, we are actually doing a spread of white zips in the near future, as well as making some shorter than 18″ – I believe we were aiming for 15″, but 10″ or 12″ could be added on to the batch as well. So, in this case, a full special order of 50 pieces is not necessary. Please send an e-mail to “special_requests@orgxiii.org” with any extra specifics you are looking for: if you would like the full-separating sides or a bottom-endstop, the color of the fabric tape, and how many of either (or both) length you mentioned.
Okay, I do have specific requests, but I have a little lee-way, too – so if you can do any of the following, I can work with it.
Zips in the long-jacket-but-not-a-coat-range. So separating, 26-29″ range. (And yeah, I know you have 2 new choices that are 30″ already, so I need just a smidge shorter. These could be bright colors as long as they are on a contrasting color tape, but preferably white or silver (or pewter or grey or whatever like that.) Also red would be great.
Actually any red that is shorter would be good too. (I noticed you just ran out of the 20″ ones right when I needed one.) So 20″ would be fine, or slightly shorter or longer. 16″-22″ somewhere. These need to be jacket-style, too.
Also, would like some short bag-style ones. About 12″ would be good, and I am not picky on color. I guess I would most want white or silver-like colors, again (since it matches the most) but I wouldn’t mind seeing some neon colors of your choosing as long as those would be on black tape for the contrast.

I also would like to see the largest size in glow-in-the-dark. I don’t really have a length in mind. Shorter rather than longer, so 20″ or less. Probably would use both bag and jacket opening kinds (or just the teeth without a slider too, if you can do that.)
I would like more light-toned options for the #30′s, and if you can make matching colors smaller that would be good as well. Mostly a nice light pink and a lime green. Sky blue or light purple also are good ideas. I’d mostly only need one-end opening, so I guess that means a bag-style? And all pretty short. 9″-14″ for the most part.
Shorter, definitely shorter. 18″ is your shortest giant zipper? That is still too long. I don’t even care what color, just some shorter if you can. The black and white ones would be cool like that.
Can you do any color metallics? If not, silver on a color tape would be awesome. Also would like gold or bronze or whatever you were planning in that range. I would need super long around 50″ double-pull #10s and also some #30′s at around 15″ or so. Please let me know if you ever get any like that made!
Hi. I saw that red is on the list, so yes please. I actually liked the 20″ giant one you had before, but I am not particular. I would want to use it in jackets, and I would like a couple (maybe different lengths around there.)

the chain version won’t work for what I need, i really need the kind that detaches all the way with a slider.
Would like to see more colors that “pop” and I think that is what you mean by contrasting. Very bright bold various rainbow color teeth (perhaps a mix) on dark tapes, in any and all sizes from #10 and up, at nothing longer than an adult torso. I would need a constant source at a couple at a time for commission work – so only a couple right now, but I will want more later, too.
I, too, would like a giant zipper in another green color, on green fabric – although the greens can be different if you can’t exactly color match. Something lighter…not sure if “lime” means neon, but it doesn’t have to be quite that bright. (This sounds silly, but for lack of a better comparison, a color akin to Yoshi.) And we have to pick a length, too? 20″ sound good to you?
At least one more green in the giant or medium size. Something minty or limey. No preference otherwise on how long or what kind it is.

(Violet being a medium purple, not too pink or blue tinted.) I would also buy a darker orange. I would like a lengths around what you have already at 18 inches, plus or minus a few inches.
Red! Basically the giant ones that you used to have, so the jacket-style? Or really, if you want to make a different length, I could probably figure something out with anything in the short-medium range, all the way up to around 30″ but shorter is more useful. I could use any of those on red tape or even black or white tape.

I saw the list of colors that you are definitely getting on your facebook page, so those sound like a good start for me. I think I am more likely to get neutral colors just because then I can match them to more designs, since I am making a range. I am making some hoodies and dresses for the most part, rather than jackets — so they don’t need to be “jacket” style for my use, although I could use those anyway if that is what you end up getting. I haven’t taken the exact measurements yet, but they won’t be terribly long, so around 25″ would be the longest I am guessing.
13″-15″ giant zippers that separate all the way. Also, I would like the zipper chain as segments with extra blank tape on either end (for sewing into seams) also about that length, up to 18″-20″ long. As for colors, just a range would be nice. The silver or pewter ones sound good to me, but plain black or white (or the glow in the dark that looks white) would be fine – anything even a darker cool color like blue or purple would be nice too. I would most likely use any of those on black fabric tape rather than matching color tape. Thank you.

I would like more colors close to the teal (aqua, cyan, turquoise, light blue…slightly different tones like that) or even more of the same teal in different length options. I mostly would be interested in one-end opening (but complete) zippers on the shorter end: about a foot long, no more than 2 feet.
I would love to purchase zipper chain and sliders in more colors such as a chartreuse, purple, or teal as I love to experiment with nontraditional ways to use the zippers.
