Hello orgXIII I was wondering how long it would take to produce a #30 zipper with yellow teeth and black ribbon. I'm in the middle of making my new Overture Sol Badguy costume and need some over-sized zippers soon. I would need a total of four each 19- 24inches long, I could just get one length and cut that to the desired size too though. I do like your zipper pulls I think they would work well for this costume but you are currently out of stock and I would need yellow versions of those as well.

I noticed that in the boots you have on your website and flickr as an example you painted the zipper teeth directly, how well dose that work and do you think it would work for my situation? I could always go that route.

Well, we are actually doing a big batch of new zips right now - we are currently working on 18" (which are actually 19" when including the bottom) zips in yellow, but they are going to be on yellow tape due to popular request. (There are a -lot- of Taokaka cosplayers interested in them.)

I didn't notice until now that for Sol, though, you actually really -do- see the black tape since it's more of a trim. In that case, spray-painting does do a pretty good job - since it colors just the teeth but doesn't seem to discolor the tape - and also it should hold up fine since you would not be zipping the pull since it's more of a decoration instead of a functional zip. In this case, you'd probably want to go with the silver zipper chain (being a lighter color to start with as a base) and then it can be exactly as long as you might need.

Thanks for the heads-up on the zipper pulls seemingly being out of stock. (That was a mistake....just the gunmetals ones are right now...not all of them.) We -will- have individual sliders in yellow are available when the new zips come, too, so I would recommend getting those than trying to spraypaint a pull evenly.

I am taking this costume to comiket this year in December over in Japan. During my stay in Tokyo some friends are (hopefully) going to introduce me to Daisuke Ishiwatari the creator of guilty gear himself. Once done with the costume I will certainty send pictures your way of the finished product that you would be more than welcome to use for all your help. Also I'm sure people ask questions a lot about the zippers so if you had any business cards you could toss into my order I could hand those out as a way to advertise your products.

Hi, I am looking for a Zipper around 22 inches long, in your silver/gunmetal color. It's for a hoodie, so I wanted one with a pull and a stop. Can I cut down the longer ones at all? Or is there a way I could get one in the size I need with everything?

Hello!

I've found it is completely possible to cut down the zippers and keep the separating end, so long as you're cutting it down from the top. There are jewelry crimps you can buy at most craft stores that, when crimped a tooth lower than the edge of the cut, will keep the zipper pull from sliding off the cut end, and using some fray-check on the tape will prevent it from fraying. We can also provide this service if you need, at no extra cost--just let us know how long you'd like the zipper to be. (This process also isn't perfect--on the rare occasion some of the crimps don't grip onto the nylon tape and come off after a few zips, but they're pretty easy to replace, and its pretty easy to stick the pull back on if it slides off.)

When do you think the Taokaka style zippers will be ready for ordering?

Our new zips will be available soon, and I should have them posted in the store by December 10th, if not sooner. (We wanted to make sure there wasn't going to be any weird shipping complications, so I haven't made the announcement elsewhere yet.)

Are you thinking of introducing #20 gauge zippers? I got an angewomon cosplay coming up that I think needs a few zippers just a tad smaller than the ones you're offering :) If you do make smaller gauges in the future, how big would #20 be in mm across the zip teeth?

Yep, we were actually sorting these out for a while. ^_^; But they are actually in and ready to ship as of today. The zipped teeth on the 20's are just about 13mm across.

I saw on your site zippers VERY similar to what I want but not quite the same. I want 33 inch zippers with the teeth and fabric in the dark grey color, such as pewter. These are #30 gauge zippers and need to be fully functioning (with stips and the little tab that enables them to be zipped together. As far as the pulls go I would like 25 white pulls and 25 red pulls. These are for hooded sweatshirts, and I do not have enough revenue right now to order more than fifty but once I do I will order a lot more at a time! Thanks for your time! I actully want 30 inches of pewter zipper with matching tape,not 33 inches that was a mistake. Yes I want 30 inches including the tab and top stop. If the bottom tab sticks below the zipper a little ways that is fine but then I might need 31 inch zippers because I need 30 inches of zip length. Does it matter how much the tape extends past the zipper, or can I just cut it to the appropriate length? quotes would be greatly appreciated! email me at stemwear@live.com

Do you sell the zipper sliders without the zippers?

Looking for #30 zippers in red but in 12" length with a stop. Do you have these available? I currently only need 6 for prototypes and could use the larger 18" for now if that is all you have. I was hoping that you had something shorter at a better price though.

i was wondering if your company could make zippers in 54in like the pewter with all colors.im specifically looking for this length in black or gunmetal both in #30 or #20 zippers and any other colors. I want to use this for hoodies and jackets but the length is to short. I recently found another company that have big zippers and they produce them by the yard but they dont make endstops on there zippers. So i would like to buy many from this company if you can make them longer

Bob = As you probably saw from the zips we already sent you, a #30 w/ a 2" pull (especially one that separates and has the bottom 1" pin+box feed) would be very short visually - so we haven't made them for our normal stock. If you are still interested in 12" red zips in the future, it is possible to make them this short, however.

Caravalho = We just sent you an e-mail a few minutes ago. And yes, we'll be making another longer fully-separating (besides the pewter) most likely in our summer stock, based on a few questions that have already been asked by others.

Hello! It's so awesome that you guys offer the #20 zippers now! By any chance do you have longer lengths of the all white zipper? I need one for a jacket that is either 26 or 28 inches long. Thank you so much for starting this store, it's so hard to find zippers this big!

Right now, we probably won't be adding any #20's for a bit. (They are actually much more hassle-some than the #30's.) But we do intend to expand our choices of them when we have the opportunity to do so.
(& thanks for letting us know your interest...we haven't had a lot of requests or feedback on the #20's from people yet, so it's been hard to gauge what we should be concentrating on.)
